  • It would seem that finally the officials are looking further into the mental health of students on university's campuses. Many students are coming to class with all sorts of mental and emotional baggage which has been on their plate for years and it should be of no surprise to officials that it might erupt while on campus.

This particular generation of students has been treated for panic attacks, anxiety, and depression in epic proportions. It is not unusual for 5 out of 10 random samples to have had some sort of mental or emotional health dealing before reaching college or university level.

Most of the difficulties can be treated but when asked, the Penn State University sample found that the males had the most concerns in dealing with extreme anger and depression.

Who can blame them in most cases. All students are taking on monstrous student and personal loans to study for four or more years to jump into an employment market which no longer exists. It is amazing that they even attend post secondary education knowing full well what their options will be. Their parents are living testimony of what can happen during a full out recession.

More mental health facilities are necessary on every campus and open discussion formats opened to allow students to communicate their feelings and worries.
