  • Obama is holding onto the thread of improvement and of transparency when speaking about the education system since he took office. President Obama is funnelling money into different programs of which he feels will do the best for the majority of students in the schools. He is an educated man himself and he knows enough not to waste money or time.

Where would the money be best served? What programs would benefit from millions of dollars? Here is a brief run down:

    • Elementary and secondary breakfast and lunch programs to fuel the hearts and stomachs of the children
    • Technical and science equipment other than text books. Actual hands on experiments and lab work to instil the learning in the student
    • Reading books for all grades and reading interests. Every school should have a rich and diversified library with multicultural interests
    • Gym and outdoor program with exercise program for 30 minutes or more per day, because today’s children are in such poor health due to issues of diabetes, cardiac problems and lung difficulties
    • Multicultural days for each of the children’s diversified backgrounds should be shared. Parents would help by bringing in samples of the food and dress and dances. The students could teach the others the dances and they would be quite fun and exhilarating
    • Every day should start with an assembly during which students could showcase their work, their singing and dancing and instrumental playing
    • During the assembly, the principal could review the rules of the school and give examples of negative behaviour without giving out names
    • Positive behaviour would receive a badge or diploma which the child could hang on the wall in his room at home or paste in a scrapbook
    • Finally, last but not least, spend some money on the janitorial staff  and cleaning supplies, heat and lights, paper and pencils for the children
