  • Enrollment in a faculty

    To enroll in a faculty of The University of Tokyo (four years for graduation, and six years for graduation in the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Veterinary Science in the Faculty of Agriculture), you are required to pass the same general screening test as Japanese students or a special screening test (for students who have graduated from foreign schools). This page is an explanation of the special screening test Most of the lectures in the faculties of The University of Tokyo are delivered in Japanese even for foreign students. Taking this point fully into account, foreign students must master the Japanese language before they enroll in The University of Tokyo.

    Enrollment in a graduate school

    To enroll in a graduate school (master's course, course or research student's course) of the University of Tokyo, you are required to successfully pass an entrance examination conducted by the individual Graduate School. For details on the basic qualifications and requirements necessary for taking an examination, etc., please inquire at the Graduate School that you want to enter.
