Contact appropriate faculty members in your area of interest to see if they have an opening in their research group. Correspond with faculty members who have openings. They may wish to see unofficial supporting documents (transcripts, GRE, etc.).
Once a faculty member has conveyed interest in your joining their research group and has encouraged you to apply, you can obtain an application through the MSU graduate school via the web (http://www.msu.edu/user/gradschl/) or by contacting Deana Haner at: harner (at) cvm.edu.edu.

  • Admission Information:
  • Fill out the online application and remit the fee to the University.

Send the statement of purpose to the Postgraduate Training Committee (address below).

Contact all colleges/universities previously attended and ask that one official transcript be sent to the Postgraduate Training Committee (address below).

Contact testing services for GRE and TOEFL (if an international student) and have them send official scores to the University Office of Admissions. You may have already completed this step when you took the exam. The department does not require GRE scores but encourages students to take the exam and submit the results.
