The National Postdoctoral Association (NPA), headquartered in Washington DC, is a member-driven organization that provides a unique, national voice for postdoctoral members. Found in 2003, they have taken on an ambitious agenda to enhance the quality of the postdoctoral experience in the country. They have certainly taken the lead in addressing many issues within the postdoc field.
