    Job Summary

    University of Massachusetts Labor/Management Workplace Education is a joint educational partnership between the University (Division of Human Resources), AFSCME, USA/MTA, and PSU/MTA. The Computer Technology Instructor is responsible for a number of LMWEP computer courses geared to UMass employees.

    Essential Functions

    Develop curricula and teach computer courses, including advanced computer courses in such areas as most recent MS Office Suite (e.g. WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS); Adobe CC Suite (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator); Drupal; WordPress; HTML/CSS and mobile technology.
    Evaluate those courses.
    Document learner progress and attendance.
    Identify learner needs.
    Help with design and maintenance of departmental web site.
    Participate in the development of competency certification for learners in these courses.
    Participate in LMWEP and related staff meetings.
    Provide on-site computer assistance and support.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

    Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience) preferably in education, computer science, or related field with 2 years of relevant experience to include computer instruction and curriculum development and assessment.
    Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite (e.g. WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS); Adobe CC Suite (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator); Windows OS; Drupal and website design.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills
    Familiarity with adult education philosophy and practices and/or career ladder program development preferred

    Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

    Demonstrated curriculum development and assessment experience preferred.
    Demonstrated computer instruction experience, certification of expertise preferred.
