    The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The University of Arizona is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Researcher. The selected candidate will assist Professor David Poirier with research to complete work in alloy solidification and how convection during solidification leads to a casting defect known as macro-segregation. Computer simulations are needed in transport phenomenon and directional simulation in alloys to complete space experiments. The part-time Senior Researcher is urgently needed to do the simulations now that the program has been extended.

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Computer simulations updated and completed in transport phenomenon and solidification. Use of "in-house" computer code.
    Complete directional simulation in alloys and investigations of various mold-materials.
    Prepare reporting results to PI and grant sponsor.
    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
    Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is typically required.
    Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Materials Science or similar field Applicants must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Experience with alloy
