    As an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, you will play a key role in delivering a welcoming, high-quality educational experience for graduate nursing students, particularly within the FNP track. This position promotes individualized advising and mentoring to support students’ successful progression and degree completion within the School of Nursing. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable learning environment that prepares students to deliver advanced practice nursing in a diverse healthcare landscape. This role requires collaboration with faculty, the MSU clinical placement coordinator, clinical sites/preceptors, and academic stakeholders to facilitate student learning, mentorship, and growth toward professional competence. The position involves active engagement in continuous professional development as both a clinician and educator, contributing to quality improvement and competency-based education in the DNP program.

    The successful candidate may need to teach in other capacities as assigned and qualified including assignments in the Pre-licensure Program (PLP).
    A typical faculty workload includes twelve (12) credits per semester of instruction with approximately 40% of workload in the DNP program and 60% in the PLP.
    May be expected to develop and deliver face-to-face seminars in Edina, hybrid courses, online courses, and/or simulations on the Mankato campus, travel to students’ clinical sites and/or at the university's additional locations as assigned.
    Faculty will collaborate with colleagues in curriculum design, instruction, and evaluation.
    Faculty will help to create innovative strategies for student recruitment, retention, and program completion. and other expectations as listed in Appendix G of the IFO Master Agreement.
    All faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly or creative activity or research, continue preparation and study, contribute to student growth and development, and provide service to the university and community (see Article 22 and Appendix G of the IFO Master Agreement).
    Minimum Qualifications

    Doctorate in nursing or related field at time of hire. (Conferred on an official transcript at the time of hire.)
    Graduate degree in nursing at time of application. (Conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)
    Active unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure; active unrestricted Minnesota Registered Nurse license at time of appointment.
    Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure at the time of appointment.
    Current national certification in an APRN role.
    Ability to travel to clinical sites as necessary to facilitate student learning.
    Demonstrated ability to serve a diverse population seeking improved equity, social justice and anti-racism in the educational and healthcare settings.
    Preferred Qualification

    Nurse Practitioner with current national certification in Family, Pediatrics, and/or Women’s Health.
    Current or recent primary care experience (e.g., family medicine, internal medicine).
    Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
    Effective written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
    Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
    Experience using D2L Brightspace Learning Management System.
    Experience developing/facilitating student learning with simulation at various levels of fidelity.
    A program of scholarship in area of interest, or strong potential for nursing scholarship.
    Other Requirements

    Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
