University freezes ice at night to cool buildings by day

The University of Arizona has a new program where they use giant blocks of ice frozen at night in order to cool their buildings in the day. This cold idea shifts their electricity load to off-peak hours, which have a lower rate and are sometimes cleaner.

"By taking the electric off of what we call peak, which is in the middle of the day, we can move that and its about more than $20,000 a month that we can save," says Gordon "Ice Man" Bush.
