University prepares for $3.7 million budget cut

The University of Mississippi will have to scale back in many areas after receiving a 5 percent budget cut from the state-appropriated education budget Sept. 4.

The $3.7 million cut, which comes at a time when school enrollment is at an all-time high, is believed to be followed by another budget cut later this year, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance Larry Sparks said.
