Toyota Rebuts Professor’s Study Suggesting Flaws in Electronics

Toyota Motor Corp. said a critique of the carmaker’s electronic throttle control system presented to Congress was based on creating instances of unintended acceleration that wouldn’t occur under normal circumstances.

Toyota, the world’s largest automaker, released a report yesterday from its consulting firm, Exponent Failure Analysis Associates, which assessed a study from a Southern Illinois University professor who testified to Congress last week.
