BYU grad's passion leads to opportunity

Brigham Young University math major Patrick Turley developed a passion for the "dismal science" of economics during a research project analyzing how realigning school district boundaries affected residential property values.

"I realized you could use math to understand interesting social questions. For a while I was planning to be a high school math teacher. I like questions concerning improving student outcomes," said Turley, who graduates today with a dual degree in math and economics.
