University of Maryland Law School to Be Renamed After $30M Donation

The University of Maryland School of Law is getting a $30 million donation and a new name.

The school will be renamed the Francis King Carey School of Law after the grandfather of William Polk Carey, whose W.P. Carey Foundation is making the donation, the New York Times reports. Francis King Carey graduated from the school in 1880.

Carey’s foundation has a history of educational generosity. Two schools were renamed after $50 million donations: the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business in Baltimore....
