A university's reaction to abuse claim faces trial

When a man held a press conference in 2009 to accuse a popular University of Northern Iowa choir director of repeatedly sexually abusing him when he taught in Missouri in the 1990s, the music stopped on the campus in Cedar Falls.

Administrators suspended professor Bradley Barrett and barred him from having contact with students. They issued a statement vowing to investigate and "hold accountable those individuals whose actions violate the law or university conduct policies." And they cancelled....
