University of Michigan grad student says she was fired over effort to unionize

The wording of the e-mail Jennifer Dibbern received from the University of Michigan professor supervising her research was ambiguous, but Dibbern says the meaning was clear -- give up her efforts to unionize graduate student research assistants (GSRAs) or else.

That was in August. Five months later, Dibbern has lost her research funding and was kicked out of her academic program.
