The University of Illinois' law school ranking tumbled in the influential U.S. News & World Report annual list, a sign of the ongoing fallout from last fall's admissions scandal.

The law school fell 12 spots, to No. 35, in the latest rankings published this week. Schools in the top 50 are highly regarded, but the drop is likely to sting because the rankings are closely watched by prospective and current students, faculty and legal professionals.
