  • The contract student will receive the following service, providing the out-patient care becomes necessary at the order of the student's attending physician. Contract students requiring emergency room treatment by a physician at the Madison Community Hospital Emergency Room during the fall or spring semesters will not be charged the normal contractor charge for the initial contracted physician services. This will be counted as one of the three physician diagnostic office calls per semester provided for in this contract.

The DSU Health Services Nurse's Station at Interlakes Medical Center can assist students with the following:

    • The basic emergency room charge will be credited toward any use of the emergency room, providing the out-patient care is deemed necessary as an emergency by the University or physician. A limit of two (2) such visits will be allowed per student per semester.
    • The student will be responsible for all additional out-patient and hospitalization charges in excess of the above stipulated benefits. Should the student be carrying any other form of hospitalization insurance previous to or in conjunction with the above agreement, it is understood that this agreement acts as a supplement in addition to any other types of student hospital coverage. Under no circumstances will any cash rebate be given to the student in cases where other coverage plus this agreement would exceed the cost of care.
