  • Counseling and Psychological Services CAPS at Carnegie Mellon offers students the opportunity to talk about personal or academic concerns in a safe, confidential setting. Students come to CAPS for many reasons, including but not limited to: Problems with family, friends, or school Concerns about the future Feelings of stress, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, or loneliness We’re here to talk with students about anything that is significant for them. We also offer support and consultation to staff, faculty, and parents who have concerns about the well-being of particular students. All Counseling Center services are provided at no cost. Hours The CAPS office is open: Monday through Friday (except university holidays) 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon; and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. During the regular school year, evening sessions are available by appointment only.
